First Contact Day

This annual event in the Star Trek universe, is the pre-anniversary of the celebration of when Zephraim Cochryne achieved warp speed and alerted a passing Vulcan science vessel which lead (would lead to) Earth becoming part of the Federation of Planets. It is celebrated on the 5th April each year, with a special lecture on a Star Trek theme which has relevance for us today.
